We live at Keepers Cottage, on The North Rhins, SW Scotland and because of its situation and the variety of wildlife that can be seen in and around the cottage, I decided to keep a wildlife diary. We also enjoy regular walks in beautiful Dumfries and Galloway and beyond which I also record here, with photos and few words.

Garden Animals May 2011
All these creatures were photographed in our garden during May.
This one has lost its tail and regrown.
Our baby bunny has been about since Easter.
We now have 2 Red Squirrels that visit the feeders every day.
They appear to be using the large bird box that was put up for Kestrels or Owls.
The Wych Elm tree has had plenty of seeds on it this year, an important food source for Red Squirrels.
Just outside the kitchen window, they appear to have got a taste for sunflower seeds.
They are quite tiny, this bird table is quite small.
