We live at Keepers Cottage, on The North Rhins, SW Scotland and because of its situation and the variety of wildlife that can be seen in and around the cottage, I decided to keep a wildlife diary. We also enjoy regular walks in beautiful Dumfries and Galloway and beyond which I also record here, with photos and few words.

Above Chapel Finian 19th June 2010
A lovely sunny day so parked at the picnic site near Chapel Finian to start our walk up the hill.
Honeysuckle by the side of the road.
Elder in full bloom.
View towards the Mull of Galloway across Luce Bay
Plenty of butterflies about including Small Heath.
Chimney Sweeper moth
Golden Ringed Dragonfly
Small Pearl Bordered Fritillary
Now thats what I call a good place to have a picnic!
