Time to explore some more of beautiful Dumfries and Galloway that we hadn’t seen before.
Barend Loch
Common Blue Damselflies…
..there were literally hundreds, I have never seen so many in one place before!
Hawthorn or May Blossom
Yellow Iris
Soldier Beetle on Bracken
Foxgloves
The light was beautiful with lovely reflections
Oh dear, think the swan has seen us!
Heading or way!
Splash!
Large Red Damselfies mating
Leaf Beetle
I love these chalets, some are for sale and others available to rent..
Mallard and ducklings
After spending some time by the loch, we walked on down to Sandyhills
Quite a few people on the beach!
We followed the footpath along the coast
Wall Butterfly
Fishing nets
Barrel Jellyfish
Salmon Nets
Windswept Hawthorns
Scabious
View from the coastpath
We reached the topograph so time to turn back
A shot of Portling before we turned back
Wall Butterfly
We had a welcome rest at the beach shop at Sandyhills for an icecream, a lovely spot with plenty of picnic tables. There is a lovely campsite here too. I overheard a camper in the shop say “ we often stop off here on our way up to Scotland!”
Back to Barend and looking even more tranquil
The swan is still lurking!
Reflected Yellow Irises
A stunning walk!
