A lovely sunny day so we decided on a walk on the beach looking for shells at RSPB Mersehead, it turned into an interesting day!
Yellowhammer from the Visitor Centre
Looks like snow but in fact its crushed cockle shells left by the storms.
The people in the background were lighting a fire on the edge of the dunes. There were 2 lots of fires near the dunes, this is an SSSI, I wish people would be more responsible!
Robin Rigg and sparkling sea
Oops, found a shell, but not quite what we were looking for! It was one of two so we called the Visitor Centre and they arranged for the police to check it out.
Small Tortoiseshell
The police have arrived
They closed the beach and waited for the bomb disposal team to arrive!
Willow Leaf Beetle (Lochmaea caprea)
