Not a great day weather wise, and very wet underfoot so settled for a forest walk on good paths.
A few trees down after the recent storms
Amazing how these trees hang on to the rocks
Winding road through the forest
Moss covered trees
Heron on Little Bruntis Loch
Take off!
One of the Galloway Forest Park sculptures, The Gem Stane one of the 7 Stanes
Just thinking about sitting on the seat by Bruntis Loch for our lunch when it poured..
…settled for sheltering under a tree until it stopped!
They were building this lovely “Hobbit” like bridge last time we visited
The Gem Stane
This 1.75 ton stone is made from Scottish pink quartz.
I met a couple of cyclists here on the 7stanes mountain bike route, I took their photo by the stanes on their phone, hope it came out ok!
Just as we were stood by the loch, the sun came out and we got some good reflections.
I love turning these reflections around and getting strange tree faces!
Seat sculpture on a tree
Scots Pine
And finally, before we left the forest we had to clean our boots, as a precaution against the larch decease!
