There was no snow at all on The Rhins so we headed east hoping to see some on the hills. Once past Glenluce it started t get white but we were surprised just how much snow they had near Newton Stewart.
The road from Minnigaff to Knockman was a bit dodgy and we had to get out of the car and lift a branch up out of the way to get the car up to the carpark, we we had to ourselves.
The sun came out and we entered a magical winter wonderland.
Snowy Blackthorn
Green tree against a blue sky.
Nuthatches are rare on the North Rhins
We have seen them several times here though
and this time we weren’t dissapointed
We watched this one for a while
Snow on the Galloway hills
Cold enough to freeze the loch
Back at the car pack the sun was getting low and there were sunrays through the mist.
