A meet up with the local branch of Butterfly Conservation for a walk through Mabie Forest, Dumfries and Galloway, in search of the Pearl-bordered Fritillary.

We parked in the ain car park but were then driven further into the forest. No sooner had we got out of the car, we spotted our first Pearl-bordered Fritillary.
