May Birds and Blooms

A selection of photos mainly in our garden but some in the surrounding countryside. A bit of an abstract shot showing just how waterproof a rooks feather is.

Starling carring food........to the nest box in the woods at the back of the garden, the first time they have nested here. A recently fledged starling fronm the box on our drive.

Willow warbler on our fence, I think they are nesting in the long grass just over the fence.

A new garden tick, a Spotted Flycatcher made a brief visit to the front garden!

Sedge Warbler in the hedge.

Juvenile Redpoll

A camera shy Red Legged Partridge in the orchard.

Not a very welcome visitor, he regularly wakes us up feeding just outside our bedroom window or jumping on the roof!

Recently fledged Meadow Pipit.

Laburnum against blue sky.

These Jackdaws were carefully removing ticks from both the adult sheep and lambs. It was obvious that the sheep were letting them do it!

Our poppies are lovely this year.

Bluebells in the woods behind our house.

Female Blackbird with food.

Female Chaffinch
