We live at Keepers Cottage, on The North Rhins, SW Scotland and because of its situation and the variety of wildlife that can be seen in and around the cottage, I decided to keep a wildlife diary. We also enjoy regular walks in beautiful Dumfries and Galloway and beyond which I also record here, with photos and few words.

Port Logan to Castle Clanyard (nearly)–22nd June 2013
The forecast was sunny spells and blustery showers, with the best weather expected on The Rhins. We headed south to Port Logan, hoping the weather would hold out.
Port Logan was looking beautiful, if a little blustery!
We headed up the path towards Castle Clanyard
Family of House Sparrows
View back towards Port Logan Bay
Shut the gate!
Wall butterfly
White Campions
Roe Deer
It didnt want to go that far away, think there might be a young one about hiding in the grass
Footpath clearly marked
Coos
Meadow Pipit
Beltie
Unfortunately the weather started to look ominous so we turned back before reaching Castle Clanyard
Broon coo…
…and wee broon coos!
Back to Port Logan and still a bit of blue sky
Jellyfish
The rain finally arrived, just as we sat down on the rocks to eat our lunch!
